In order to apply to this dieta, please fill out the forms at checkout and we will review your application and see if we feel you could be a good fit for the dieta. In general we are working with people we have either already worked with in the past or have dieted before or who we feel would have a sensitivity to this work and be able to connect from a distance.

During the dieta, food is kept to a minimum to allow the plant to deeply penetrate. It is said that when the body is weak, the spirit is high. Guests will prepare and drink a juice or smoothie or eat a light soup twice a day just in order to maintain physical force so that they are able to undertake the plant diet, which can be strong and profound. We will explain upon acceptance the food preparation.

This remote dieta is meant to be done in isolation, so it’s not a “social diet.” This means the participants need to find a place where they will be alone for the seven days. This can be a tent on hour land or a room in house. If others are in the home that is ok, its just important to isolate oneself then in one’s room and not have contact for the seven days.

The dieta is run by Merav Artzi and Jason Grechanik. Combined we have worked with and guided over a thousand people in ceremonies working with various plants. It is a great opportunity to work with both a very experienced male and female guide.

We will be working with our staple Amazonian trees as well as seven Celtic trees: oak, hawthorn, elder, alder, blackthorn, birch, apple, and willow. We are working via the medium of tobacco, a plant that cleans, opens us energetically and connects us to the spirit of plants. Tobacco is considered a or the great plant teacher and one of the most powerful tools in the plant kingdom.

We have found working with local trees gives people an opportunity to connect to the medicine and wisdom of their land where they can develop a physical and spiritual connection to a tree in in proximity to their own land. We have been truly inspired with the connection our guests are developing working with their own indigenous trees.

Upon acceptance to the dieta, Merav and Jason will have a call to do a diagnosis and to either explain how to prepare the medicines oneself or to mail you prepared medicines.

Note that as we will be working with a group of individuals throughout the world, we will try and find a time that best suits everyone to do our daily work. This will most likely be early morning Pacific Coast Time, midday Eastern Standard Time, and evenings European times. We will finalize the hours with each guest before the dieta.

Over the years we have received a multitude of requests to do a more formal teacher training for practitioners of tobacco medicine. This is now that opportunity. We will be holding a week-long intensive in Portugal, outside of Lisbon, in the beautiful forest of Sintra. This retreat is ONLY open to current practitioners or those who have completed their apprenticeship with Jason, Merav, Ernesto, or another qualified practitioner.

We will be doing daily lectures and practices, two days of group ceremonies, and a public clinic. We put together a small slideshow with the daily topics and routines.

The plant dieta is a chance to learn from one of the Master Plant teachers. “Dieting” is a traditional process one undertakes to learn and heal deeply from a plant. The dieta is done in isolation on land in nature, mimicking the traditional dieting process in the jungle, which gives the participant a chance to deeply be with oneself, to see and understand the mind, and to allow the plant to maximize its effects.

Guests will arrive during the day, get settled in, have a diagnostic to see which plant would be of most benefit, and then begin the ceremony and dieting process that night. Food is kept to a minimum to allow the plant to deeply penetrate. It is said that when the body is weak, the spirit is high. Guests will drink a juice or smoothie or eat a light soup twice a day just in order to maintain physical force so that they are able to undertake the plant diet, which can be strong and profound.

This event is located at a plant-medicine retreat center in the countryside outside of the beautiful, quaint town of Westport, Ireland at the Anam Croí House, which is a beautiful space and land dedicated to healing and transformation. The dieta is run by Merav Artzi and Jason Grechanik. Combined we have worked with and guided over a thousand people in ceremonies working with various plants. It is a great opportunity to work with both a very experienced male and female guide. We recommend that guests come for both weeks if possible as we have seen in two weeks, usually people are able to go much deeper into a process. But we understand if this is not possible financially or with time so we offer one-week dietas and these are very beneficial as well and guests can still go very deep.

We will be bringing Amazonian trees to work with as well as seven local trees: oak, hawthorn, elder, alder, blackthorn, birch, apple, and willow, particularly inspired by Celtic wisdom. We are working via the medium of tobacco, a plant that cleans, opens us energetically and connects us to the spirit of plants. Tobacco is considered a or the great plant teacher and one of the most powerful tools in the plant kingdom.

We have found working with local trees gives people an opportunity to connect to the medicine and wisdom of their land where they can develop a physical and spiritual connection to a tree in in proximity to their own land. We have been truly inspired with the connection our guests are developing working with their own indigenous trees.

If coming for 17 days of dieta, you will most likely diet two different trees. We will close the first dieta on July 8th and you will begin the second dieta on July 10th. You will have July 9th as a day of rest and recovery. Guests will arrive during the day, get settled in, potentially have a diagnostic to see which plant would be of most benefit, and then begin the ceremony and dieting process that day/night.  Food is kept to a minimum to allow the plant to deeply penetrate.  It is said that when the body is weak, the spirit is high.  Guests will drink a juice or smoothie or eat a light soup twice a day just in order to maintain physical force so that they are able to undertake the plant diet, which can be strong and profound.

The dietas will be run by myself and my colleague Merav, a very experienced tabaquera. Combined we have worked with and guided over a thousand people in ceremonies working with various plants. It is a great opportunity to work with both a very experienced male and female guide.

Guests have the option to stay between one and three weeks. Each diet is eight days and eight nights. Guests drink their medicine each day and have a consultation with Merav and Jason each day. We break the dieta on the eighth morning with a small ceremony and with a meal. Guests will have dinner that night and can leave the following morning.

Guest works with one tree per dieta. We recommend at least two weeks to go more deeply into the medicine. There is a two-day break in between diets to rest and recuperate. Guests can stay on-site during these two days. In these two days, we will not be preparing food. There are many restaurants, grocery stores and markets nearby, and its a good opportunity to get out a bit, use the internet, rest, integrate, do laundry, and run any errands in town that they may need to do.

The dietas will take place in Urubamba, Peru.  This is in the Sacred Valley of Peru, where the lowland Amazonian jungle comes up and turns into the high Andean mountain range. Also note there is a very small chance, but a possibilty, that Jason may not by physically present due to his child being born. If this is the case, he will be working remotely, which Merav and Jason have done in the past, and it has worked very successfully. Jason, instead of working and talking to each guest in-person, would do so via a laptop. Merav would physically serve medicine and like that the retreat would proceed seamlessly.

We will be bringing Amazonian trees to work with as well as two local trees, the oak, hawthorn, elder, and alder trees. We have found working with local trees gives people an opportunity to connect to the medicine and wisdom of their land. They also can develop a connection to a tree that they can then go back to physically and continue a relationship with. This will be special retreat in that a few colleagues of ours will be involving selected guests in two projects that we are excited about and hope will further our work. The first will be a documentary about our work with tobacco and trees directed by our friend Luis Solarat. Luis directed a very good documentary by London Real about ayahuasca entitled Reconnect. He is hoping to shed more light and bring our work with dieting out to a bigger audience. He would like to interview guests who are willing to participate before their diets begin and after they close. He would also like to follow up with them via a virtual call around a month after their dietas are completed.

The second project that will be taking place is run by our friend Luke Jensen and involves brain mapping and neurofeeback. This project is designed to run diagnostics on the brain through its monitoring to get data sets on how the brain is functioning before and after the dieta. Guests who would like to participate will be asked to completed an online questionnaire around one to two weeks beofre the dieta begins. They will then have a 30 minutes in-person session before the diet starts with Luke to get some data points on the brain functioning. This is a seemless process and quite relaxing and enjoyable. Participating guests will then have another 30 minute session after their dieta is completed the day after we close.

The data sets that are collected will be used as part of a published paper to analyze the effects of the dieta process and how the plants can potentialy alter brain functioning for the better. Our team is available to provide retreat clients information about what areas of their brain improved as a result of their retreat experience. In order to do this, we utilize a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG). A qEEG is a diagnostic tool which measures the electrical activity of the brain in the form of brain wave patterns and is referred to as “brain mapping.” Each retreat client will be brain mapped as they arrive at the retreat center to determine their current brain function. Our team will complete a follow up brain map after their plant medicine experience to demonstrate and validate the positive changes in their brain function. By providing clients with this science-based data, it increases the validity and credibility of their experience. In addition, including our research results in marketing/outreach can increase success and help attract the "skeptical" public.

The dietas will be run by myself and my colleague Merav, a very experienced tabaquera. Combined we have worked with and guided over a thousand people in ceremonies working with various plants. It is a great opportunity to work with both a very experienced male and female guide.

Guests have the option to stay between one and three weeks. Each diet is seven days and seven nights. We break the dieta on the eighth morning. Guest works with one tree per dieta. We recommend at least two weeks to go more deeply into the medicine. There is a two-day break in between diets to rest and recuperate. Guests can stay in town but we welcome and encourage everyone to stay in their rooms between diets. In these two days, we will not be preparing food, but guests can use the facilities and can prepare their own food, use the internet, rest, integrate, and run errands in town they may need to do.

The dietas will take place in Urubamba, Peru.  This is in the Sacred Valley of Peru, where the lowland Amazonian jungle comes up and turns into the high Andean mountain range. Price is all-inclusive of the dieta, including all work, medicine, food, accommodation, and treatments. (Exact location and accommodation may vary depending on the number of dieters)

Guests can stay in town but we welcome and encourage everyone to stay in their rooms between diets.
