The Plant Dieta
The plant dieta is an opportunity to learn from one of the Master Plant teachers and to develop a deeper relationship with the plant. “Dieting” is a traditional process through which one works deeply with a plant for healing, learning, and personal transformation.
The dieta is undertaken in isolation, either on land immersed in nature or within the quiet confines of one’s room, recreating as closely as possible the traditional dieting process in the jungle. This intentional solitude gives the participant the opportunity to be deeply present with themselves, observe and understand the mind, and create the conditions for the plant to work as fully and deeply as possible.
The Dieta Process
During the dieta, food is kept to a minimum to allow the plant to work as deeply as possible. Traditionally, it is said that when the body is weak, the spirit is strong.
Participants will prepare and drink a juice or smoothie, or eat a light soup, twice a day—just enough to maintain the physical strength necessary to undertake the plant diet, which can be a strong and profound process. We will provide detailed instructions for food preparation upon acceptance into the dieta.
The remote dieta is intended to be undertaken in isolation. This is not a “social dieta.” Participants will need to find a place where they can be alone for the seven days of the dieta. This could be a tent on their own land or a private room within a house.
It is perfectly fine if other people are present in the home; what is important is that the participant is able to remain in their own space and avoid social contact throughout the dieta. The intention is to create an environment of solitude that allows the participant to turn inward and remain deeply connected to the process.
The Guides
The dieta will be guided by Jason Grechanik and Merav Artzi. Together, they have worked with and guided more than a thousand people through ceremonies and healing work with a variety of plants.
This is a unique opportunity to work with both an experienced male and female guide throughout the dieta, receiving daily support, teaching, and guidance from both.
The Trees and Plant Teachers
We will be working with several of our staple Amazonian trees, as well as eight Celtic trees: oak, hawthorn, elder, alder, blackthorn, birch, apple, and willow.
Our work is conducted through the medium of tobacco, a plant that cleanses, opens us energetically, and connects us with the spirit of plants. Tobacco is considered to be a great plant teacher—and by some traditions, the great plant teacher—and is regarded as one of the most powerful tools in the plant kingdom.
We have found that working with local trees offers participants a unique opportunity to connect with the medicine and wisdom of their own land. Developing a physical and spiritual relationship with a tree growing near where one lives can create a particularly intimate connection to the land and its medicine.
We have been deeply inspired by the relationships our guests have developed through working with the indigenous trees of their own regions.
Choosing and Preparing the Medicine
Upon acceptance into the dieta, Merav or Jason will have a call with each participant to conduct a diagnosis and determine which tree they will work with.
During this consultation, we will either explain how to prepare the medicine yourself or arrange to have prepared medicine mailed to you.
Daily Work
Because we will be working with a group of participants located around the world, we will do our best to find a time that works well for everyone for our daily work.
This will most likely be early morning Pacific Time, midday Eastern Time, and evening in Europe. We will confirm the specific schedule with each participant before the dieta begins.
Merav and Jason will work with each participant every day throughout the dieta, alternating between them—one day with Merav and the following day with Jason.
Group Size
We are offering this dieta to a small group, with the group size most likely limited to eight participants.
Places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
